1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a telephone conversation with Secretary of State of the United States (U.S.) Mike Pompeo on the night of November 21. The two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including the negotiations on defense cost-sharing and other issues regarding the Republic of Korea (ROK)-United States relations, as well as pending issues between the ROK and Japan, such as the General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA).

2. Minister Kang and Secretary Pompeo agreed to continue close communication on diverse issues between the ROK and the U.S. at various levels. On that note, they shared the understanding on the need to meet in person in the near future for an in-depth consultation and agreed to coordinate the date of the meeting.
