1. During her visit to New York, the United States, for the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha met with Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Achim Steiner at the UNDP headquarters at 11:00-11:30, September 27.

2. Minister Kang commended the UNDP for its contributions to achieving sustainable development goals. Administrator Steiner expressed appreciation for the Republic of Korea (ROK)’s commitment and role as President of the Executive Board 2019.

° Minister Kang requested the UNDP’s continued attention to ensure increase in the number of the ROK nationals in the UN system.

3. The two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including the implementation of the UN development system reform, cooperation with private sector including Korean enterprises, and the progress in the UNDP programs in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
