1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha, together with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Taro Kono and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi, paid a courtesy call on Premier of China Li Keqiang at the Great Hall of the People (Renmin Dahuitang), Beijing, China, on the morning of August 22, 2019.

2. Minister Kang mentioned that the 9th Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting among the Republic of Korea (ROK), Japan and China, held three years after the 8th meeting, had served as a good opportunity to review the progress in the trilateral cooperation and to discuss its way forward. She went on to voice hope that the three countries would consult closely for the success of the next trilateral summit.

3. Minister Kang added that the ROK-China relations are moving stably forward on the basis of trust between the Presidents of the two countries and active high-level exchanges. She suggested that the two countries work together to further advance their relations in various areas, including economic cooperation.

4. Premier Li Keqiang noted with appreciation that the three countries had agreed to further deepen the trilateral cooperation at the Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in the year marking the 20th anniversary of the launch of the ROK-Japan-China cooperation mechanism. He voiced hope that the three countries would communicate closely for the next ROK-Japan-China summit to take place within the year.
