1. On the occasion of the 74^th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Amb. Lee Do-hoon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, had a trilateral consultation with Mr. Stephen Biegun, U.S. Special Representative for North Korea and Mr. Shigeki Takizaki, Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, in New York City on September 24. The three sides exchanged views on ways for the three countries to work together on the North Korean nuclear issue.

2. Ahead of the trilateral consultation, Amb. Lee had a meeting with the newly appointed Director-General Shigeki Takizaki and shared their views on the current situation on the Korean Peninsula, including an outlook on the resumption of working-level negotiations between the U.S. and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
