1. Amb. Lee Do-hoon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Kenji Kanasugi, Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, in Seoul on the afternoon of August 29.

2. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on ways for the Republic of Korea, the United States (U.S.) and Japan to work together in responding to the nuclear and missile threats from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and in resuming U.S.-DPRK working-level negotiations as soon as possible.
